About Anderson Gardens

Residential Garden Consultant in Bowral and the Southern Highlands.

Anderson Gardens is the digital home of local horticulturist Nige Anderson based in Bowral and servicing the Southern Highlands.

“My role is simple: I listen to your ideas and concerns and look at what is and what is not working an Duse my experience to help you understand what to do next”

By visiting your gardens to get a picture of what is actually happening on the ground — plants, soil, drainage, layout, and maintenance history — I provide clear direction so you can make confident decisions. Sometimes the answer is simple. Sometimes a garden needs a deeper correction or staged improvements.

A Practical Approach

Experienced in several sides of the gardening world:

  • landscape construction
  • garden maintenance and plant care
  • practical horticulture

This combination matters. Understanding both how gardens are built and how they behave over time allows problems to be diagnosed properly.

I’m not a large landscaping company and I’m not trying to sell major projects.

My work sits somewhere in between:
A general-practicing horticulturist homeowners can call when they want an experienced perspective on their garden.

Sometimes that leads to me making improvements. Sometimes it simply gives the homeowner confidence to continue themselves.

Either outcome is a success.

This approach underpins the Garden Assessment service.

Many gardens struggle not because the owner lacks effort — but because the original decisions or conditions weren’t quite right.
